Suspect arrested in death of Angela Kukawski, Kardashians commercial director Nicki Minaj
Angela “Angie” Kukawski, a Los Angeles-based business manager who worked at Boulevard Management in Woodland Hills, has died, the Ventura County Coroner’s Office confirmed to Variety. She was 55 years old and the cause of death appears to be homicide, according to sources who point to a Dec. 22 incident in Van Nuys and Simi Valley, Calif.
Los Angeles Police have arrested a 49-year-old man, identified as Jason Barker, who was being held on $ 2 million bail, according to an LA County inmate admission record. On December 29, the bond was raised to $ 3.07 million. He is due in court on January 12, 2022.
According to a local report, a woman in her 50s was found dead in the trunk of a parked car in Simi Valley, just north of Los Angeles. Sources confirm that Kukawski was the woman. At Boulevard, Kukawski has worked with clients such as Nicki Minaj, rappers Kanye West and Offset and, for a time, the Kardashians, as well as the Tupac Shakur estate, according to government documents and former associates.
“We are saddened and heartbroken by the loss of our colleague, Angie Kukawski,” Boulevard’s Todd Bozick said in a statement to Variety. “Angie was a kind and wonderful person, and everyone who knew her will be sadly missed. Our deepest condolences go out to all of Angie’s family and friends.
Not much else is known about the circumstances of the crime, but Barker is believed to be Kukawski’s boyfriend.
